THINK PHARMASIT FIRST - Minor Ailment Scheme ( posted on Dec 23, 2015 )

Think Pharmacist First

Members of the public are being reminded to 'Think Pharmacist First' if they require treatment for less serious health conditions over the Christmas and New Year period.

Medication for a range of complaints can be obtained direct from community pharmacists without having to see a GP first. Pharmacy services are available every day of the week including holidays – even on Christmas Day - and there is no need to make an appointment.

Under the Island's Minor Ailments Scheme a total of 16 different treatments can be supplied direct to the patient, covering 14 different conditions.

Thank you! ( posted on Dec 5, 2014 )

Dear Patients,

I would like to pass onto you all my thanks for your patience whilst we have been changing over our clinical computer system.

I am aware that this has meant some delays both at reception and in consultation but now we can all concentrate on getting quicker using the system.  Some delays may still occur whilst we find out "which button to press" but these will hopefully get less and less.

The new system will mean a much improved service for both staff and patients and means that any patients attending Manx Emergency Doctor Services (MEDS) out of hours will have their essential details (medications, allergies etc) available to the MEDS doctor.

Further improvements to patient services will follow as the system evolves here on the Isle of Man.

Thank you again,

Hilary Cater

SCAM WARNING! ( posted on Jun 24, 2014 )

Another practice on the Island has had patients reporting getting telephone calls from someone saying they are from "your health clinic" and trying to obtain personal details from them.

They are actually trying to get you to give them your card/bank details to purchase vitamins etc that are not available on the NHS.

They are specifically targeting retired people.

Please be aware of this and do not give your details out to anyone over the telephone.

We would not be contacting you like this!

Thank you

Hilary Cater
