A doctor’s sick note is not legally required for absences of less than 6 days. For absences of 6 days or less you should complete a self-certification note (SC1) for your employer.
Private sick notes may be issued by your doctor, for which a fee is payable. Doctors are not able to complete any sick note for a new condition without seeing you.
